不得不说，“摩天柱”这三个字简直是“形如其名”，就没见过这么大的仙人掌。
摩天柱属的品种约10种，这是一种树状仙人掌，有的直立生长，能高达几十米，像孙猴子的金箍棒。
有的则是底部长出一个粗壮的柱子（约2米高），柱子上面再横向生长数个直立的侧芽，像巨人国里的巨大烛台一样，Pachycereus weberi 就是后者。
Pachycereus weberi 是以植物学家Frédéric Albert Constantin Weber命名的，这种迷人的植物的生长范围较广泛。
生长在海拔600到1500米的地方，如米却肯、莫雷洛斯、普埃布拉、瓦哈卡和格雷罗的干旱地区及落叶森林中。
它的高度可达15米，相当于5层楼那么高，在空旷的山脉中一眼就能看到，真可谓是巨大的显眼包。
现实版：背靠大树好乘凉，我也想去靠一靠。
这个物种因其美丽、对称性和惊人的性质而受到很多关注，它还受到各种虚假报道和误导性的声明。
比如：它是地球上最大的仙人掌（实际上它在前五名，但平均来说，Pachycereus pringlei 的体型更大）；
它活了4000年（其实上更可能是200~300年）；
它每7年才开一次花（事实上就像大多数仙人掌一样每年都开花）等等。
一条棱上可以长出无数朵花苞，花朵硕大，呈白色。
果实外面布满了刺，果肉呈紫红色，有甜味，通常裂为四瓣，不仅动物爱吃，这种果实也深受人们的喜爱。
虽然我没尝过，但是它的果肉看起来很像火龙果。
很多旅行者来到这里，都会选择跟它合影，一方面是敬佩造物主的鬼斧神工，竟然创造出这么神奇的植物，另一方面则是发自内心的感叹人类在大自然面前的渺小。

阎王拿着生死簿一看，这死因，惨，真是太惨了！
这棵是矮胖型的，身手敏捷的人可以快速爬上去，甚至还能在里面捉迷藏。

别看这些野外的都是巨大无比，实际上若是你想在花园里养上一棵，从单头开始养的话，这辈子是没希望见到它长成野外的规模了
